We are very excited to have 14 new girls  from Troop 949 hanging out with us this year!!!!  This makes troop 1004 27 girls strong!!

The purpose of this site is to help us connect with other troops in the U.S. and around the world and to share our accomplishments, ideas and goals with them. We welcome your comments and ideas in exchange. Our troop is in Hopedale, in south central Massachusetts and a member of The Girl Scouts of Montachusett Council.

About Us

Our troop is made up of 27 busy young women in 7th, 8th & 9th grade. We are a very travel-focused troop and plans are already underway for our trip to Roseland Ranch for a week-end  of horeseback riding and fun.  We like to stay in Youth Hostels (when we are not camping!) and meet people from other areas and cultures.  Our sister troop just returned from Niagara Falls and had a great time seeing the sights for 4 days and nights!!

Travel

Some of our recent trips have included the International Youth Hostel in Boston, the off-Broadway show Mama Mia,  and Niagara Falls .   We spent the weekend at Camp Laurelwood for our encampment and took the train to Boston for a Duck Tour and lunch at Bertucci's.

Service Projects

People shouting at the world over megaphones; Size=240 pixels wide

It is the tradition of Girl Scouts to reach out to our neighbors in need- in our community and around the world. We have worked on service projects to assist Meals on Wheels, Appalachian school children and the Milford Community Supper (Soup Kitchen) for which we made holiday dinner favors filled with candy. For the Breast Cancer Awareness pink ribbon project , ribbons were given to patients in the Mammogram Dept. of the Milford Hospital during Oct. which was National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Plans are now in the works for service time at the Greyhound Friends, Winterhaven Shelter, Milford Community Soup Kitchen,  and at the Milford Humane Society.
